The Decision That Changed My Life

Alan Grant
Hi guys. My name is Alan Grant. I work in Snakewater, Montana, USA with my friend, Ellie Sattler, for the InGen Company. While I was working on some dinosaur fossils, Ellie suddenly told me that a lawyer from EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, came to see me. The lawyer asked me some questions about my boss, Mr. Hammond. But the first question that he asked me is the question about ambers, a dried sap from trees created millions of years ago. I was confused, Hammond asked me to research about the dinosaurs, but ambers have absolutely nothing to do with dinosaurs, so I asked him about the reason why he asked me that. It turns out that Hammond had been spending a huge, and I mean HUGE, amount of money on those. I also found out that the InGen Company had asked me to become a consultant. When I told the lawyer everything I knew, he thanked me and left. When he left, I received a fax of an X-ray of a…. lizard!!! And not just any lizard, it’s a lizard from millions of years ago, in other words, a dinosaur. The fax showed that the dinosaur was found attacking a little girl around ten years old. Not a moment too long after that, Mr. Hammond called. He asked Ellie and I to be consultants at this island called Isla Nublar. At first, I disagreed, but he agreed to pay me a very large amount of money, so I finally agreed. That was probably the worst and the best mistake I ever made.
